Objective
Match the 9×9 circuit-memory tiles. The board contains 40 matching pairs plus one central core-bypass tile. Completing the board restores the processing system.
Why it becomes more likely
The challenge can occur at any time while the relevant system exists, and active Research Directives increase its trigger pressure. A more scientifically ambitious observatory therefore has more reason to maintain resilient processing capacity.
